The DCenters

I've earned a trial as a guest blogger over at my favorite soccer blog, The DCenters, a blog almost exclusively devoted to DC United. Now I have to think up interesting soccer stuff to blog about. I'm very good at blowing up their comments section, but whether or not I can translate those snippy comments into full fledge posts is what this trial is all about.

So check me out over there.

I've got to start a soccer blog!

I was thinking about starting a soccer blog... I was wondering if I would have enough to say... and then I saw this on ESPN's MLS Power Rankings for week 22, [I knew before I even went to the website that DC United would be in the number 1 position].
LA Galaxy: Frank Yallop's next move should be to keep Landon Donovan as far away from the penalty spot as possible.
Damn, that is fantastic. I can't believe that LD missed two penalty kicks in a row. Well, he missed one in the SuperLiga match and then was denied by ex-DCU keeper Nick Rimando in the RSL match!!!

More poor soccer:

Jacob Thomas, whom Columbus coach Sigi Schmid had just brought on as a substitute, was in perfect position for the rebound, but mis-hit his effort and did not even put the chance on goal as it hit Coundoul, who was still well out of position.
This was well described, because the goal was wide open and this Thomas person was wide open to score, but he hit the ball away from the goal, and the keeper was able to block the shot except that he didn't even need to block it because the ball was going way wide of the goal already. It was so weird. This same player made another poor attempt later in the game, but I don't remember what it was.

More later on Landon, when hopefully I can include some youtube links of his failures.
